AIMS OF THE PRIVATE EXCELLENCE INITIATIVE JOHANNA QUANDT

The Private Excellence Initiative Johanna Quandt is one of the largest donations by a private person for science in Germany. It was initiated in 2013 by the entrepreneur and founder Johanna Quandt to support the life sciences and medicine in Berlin on their way to international leadership. With the Private Excellence Initiative, the independent and non-profit  foundation Stiftung Charité focuses on supporting outstanding individuals in all phases of their scientific careers: from students to postdocs and professors to Nobel Prize winners. After five years, Stiftung Charité is already supporting 350 scientists through the 13 different programs of the Private Excellence Initiative.
